Just a few bus stops away from Maihama Station
Henn Na Hotel Maihama Tokyo Bay is the newest and most technologically advanced hotel around Tokyo Disney Resort. It's about a 20 minutes walk from JR Maihama Station, or a short bus ride away. If you are a lazy rat like myself, take the bus from Maihama Bus Terminal. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to get there by bus. Sharpen your claws, find a tree and carve this information in! Once you arrive at JR Maihama Station, take the south exit and walk a little to your left. You will see a flight of stairs going down. It's across from Becker's. You can't miss it. Walk down the stairs and wait for bus number 9 or 37 at bus stop number 2. It'll only cost 150 yen and about 5 minutes later, you'll arrive at your destination.
Welcome to Henn Na Hotel Maihama Tokyo Bay
Once you alight from the bus, you'll see a Lawson convenience store on your left. Walk towards Lawson for a teeny bit, cross the road and you'll see a giant matchbox with windows. On the outside, the hotel looks like any other business hotel in Japan, sorta like a really nice mental institution. On the inside? Prepare to get your mind blown.
Ready for your mind to be blown to smithereens?
Once you enter Henn Na Hotel, you will be transported into a world where human staff members don't exist. Every process in this hotel is run by robots. Check-in and check-out, cleaning, food and drinks, everything! Behold my human friends, the robots have arrived.
What happens if there's an emergency?
If there's an emergency or a need for human assistance, don't fret. You can use the phone in your room or the phone in the lobby to call a fellow human being, or at least what I thought was a human being. It could have been a robot that was programmed to speak like a human being. Ohhhhhhh, the plot thickens.
Enough with the robots, I'm ready to get some sleep!
If that's the case, it's time to head to the room. Rooms in Henn Na Hotel are similar to rooms in any other business hotel in Japan. Clean and a little tight when it comes to the space department. Apart from the lack of space, it's got everything that you need to be comfortable.
Did you get a goodnight's sleep, oh mighty Honorable Rat?
Wow, that's very sweet of you to ask. You've never asked me that before. Well, I have to admit that I had some trouble falling asleep that night. Don't get me wrong. It was not because of the bed. The bed was comfortable. It had nothing to do with the comfort level of the room whatsoever. It was my mind. I spent quite a bit of time in bed thinking about robots taking over the world. What?! You wanna know more? Well, it's a long story that's difficult to share in this blog post. Tell you what. Since you were nice enough to check on my wellbeing, I'll record a podcast to share that story with you! At the end of the day, I did manage to get a goodnight's sleep. Thanks so much for asking.
Overall impression of Henn Na Hotel Maihama Tokyo Bay
Our stay at Henn Na Hotel Maihama Tokyo Bay was enjoyable. The room was clean and comfortable. The robots were fun to interact with. There's a Lawson convenience store next to the hotel which meant... late night karaage-kun! Also, a night's stay in Henn Na Hotel is one of the most affordable around Tokyo Disney Resort. We paid close to 25,000 yen a night for 3 adults and 2 kids, during summer vacation. Only Hotel Mystays Maihama can compete with that price. If you are looking for an affordable hotel to stay in around Tokyo Disney Resort, I highly recommend Henn Na Hotel Maihama Tokyo Bay. Welcome to the age of artificial intelligence!
