A fan of Mexican food? Where can a rat get Mexican food in Tokyo Disney Resort?

There are a few places in Tokyo Disney Resort in which you can get "Mexican" food. I say "Mexican" with inverted commas because a lot of these places serve up a Japanese interpretation of "Mexican" food. What do I mean by Japanese interpretation? Well, Mexican food is supposed to be a marriage between a variety of flavors from different ingredients, coming together to create this explosion in your mouth. The Japanese version is less flavorful, less spicy (or no spice at all) and more one-dimensional. Basically, it's a toned down version. You can find Japanese versions of Mexican food in Tokyo DisneySea in Miguel's El Dorado Cantina and Yucatan Base Camp Grill. As far as Tokyo Disneyland is concerned, nada. There's no Mexican food there if you don't count the churro carts. In Ikspiari, you can find some authentic Mexican dishes in Rainforest Cafe, but I promised myself to never visit that place again. Click on the link if you wanna read more about my "once in a lifetime" experience in Rainforest Cafe. So, where can you find good Mexican food in Tokyo Disney Resort?!

Here! You can find great Mexican food here!

Guzman Y Gomez is hands down, the best Mexican restaurant in Tokyo Disney Resort! No doubt about it. Guzman Y Gomez replaced a Chinese restaurant in Ikspiari last year and it is one of the best decisions that Ikspiari has made in recent years. They replaced a sub-par Chinese eatery with a counter service Mexican powerhouse! What kind of Mexican food are you looking for? Quesadillas, salads, nachos, enchiladas, tacos, churros? They have it all!

Well worth the money!

As many of you already know, I'm a cheap rat. I will definitely call a dining establishment out if it serves sub-par food. Food served in Guzman Y Gomez is of about the same price as food served up in Miguel's El Dorado Cantina, but it's waaaaaayyyyyyyyyy better. Definitely worth the money. If you want more bang for your buck, go for one of its sets.

Everything that Guzman Y Gomez has to offer is really good!

As of today, I've been to Guzman Y Gomez 12 times. I wanted to try everything on its menu before writing a review and I'm delighted to say that I've tried everything. This doesn't usually happen. I usually find a dish or two that I don't quite like in a restaurant, but when it comes to Guzman Y Gomez, I liked everything. You can pick anything out from the menu below and you'll be walking out of the restaurant with a smile on your face. If you don't know what to order, just close your eyes, spin around three times and point at the menu. You'll get something good. You have Honorable Rat's word.

And guess what? It's never busy!

As I mentioned earlier, I've been to Guzman Y Gomez 12 times. I always managed to get a seat. In fact, there were many seats available every time I visited. This is from experience of visiting the restaurant on weekdays. I don't go to Tokyo Disney Resort on weekends and public holidays. Do take note of that. If you happen to visit Tokyo Disney Resort on a non public holiday weekday, I'm very sure that you can just walk in and find a seat.

Don't forget your hot sauce and condiments!

Add some pickled jalapenos and Guzman Y Gomez's Habanero sauce to enjoy your meal Honorable Rat style. If you are a spice lover like me, this is heaven. I usually dump quite a bit into my burrito. The Habanero sauce is fire and I love it! It's a good thing that you can get as many cups of water as you want cause you are gonna need it.

Final Thoughts

What do you think, Ratketeer? What score should I give Guzman Y Gomez? This is a no brainer! Honorable Rat, out!

Honorable Rating: Lick That Plate (5/5)
