Camp Woodchuck Kitchen: Honorable Rat's recent go-to spot for a savory snack
Recently, I've been dining a lot in Camp Woodchuck Kitchen. It's become one of my favorite places to dine in. I would slot it into my top 3 list of budget restaurants in Tokyo Disneyland. Great atmosphere and great food at affordable prices. I love it so much that it has been the only constant spot of visit in my recent outings to Tokyo Disneyland. Harnessing the power of this obsessive new crush wave rushing through my body, I've managed to sample all 3 Waffle Sandwiches on offer at Camp Woodchuck Kitchen and here's how I rank them!
3) Bacon with Vegetable Barbecue Sauce
First off, we have the Bacon with Vegetable Barbecue Sauce. This baby contains chunks of bacon, cut lettuce, onions and eggplant covered in ratatouille sauce. Overall, it has a smoky, soury flavor to it and it is actually not that bad... but not great either. Every time I take a bite, I feel like there's something missing. Considering your options in Camp Woodchuck Kitchen, you might wanna give this one a pass and decide between the next two Waffle Sandwiches on offer.
Honorable Rating: If only I could fill that one gap that this waffle sandwich has. Hmmmmm.... what could the secret ingredient be? (3/5)
2) Spicy Shrimp & Avocado
If looks mattered to me, this would be in last place, but luckily for you, sexy Ratketeer, it doesn't. Winning the silver medal in this race is the Spicy Shrimp & Avocado. It does not taste like how it looks and that's a positive for all seafood loving Ratketeers out there. Overall, this Waffle Sandwich has the best texture in Camp Woodchuck Kitchen. The springiness from the shrimps combined well with the crunchiness of the waffle buns and the purple lettuce. Add the creaminess from the mustard sauce and you've got yourself a mustardy-creamy-cruncy-springy concoction.
Honorable Rating: Crackly, boingy, mustardy, creamy goodness (4/5)
1) Fried Chicken with Maple Sauce
Ladies and gents, we have ourselves a winner. This is the main reason as to why I have been visiting Camp Woodchuck Kitchen every time I step into Tokyo Disneyland. This waffle sandwich is the bomb. The chicken had a little spice to it and it was fried to perfection. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The slices of red lettuce and cabbage add to the crunch of the waffles sandwiching the amazing fried chicken. Add that maple sauce and you've got yourself a sweet-savory sandwich that will massage your taste buds. The best sandwich in all of Tokyo Disneyland!
Honorable Rating: Highly satisfying and addictive. Lick that plate! (5/5)
