The best way to start your day in Tokyo Disney Resort is...
by having a great breakfast! Between Ikspiari, Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea and the hotels, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to kick-starting your day with good breakfast food. Some dining establishments even allow for you to stuff your face with food while mingling with the Disney characters. Imagine that. Starting your day with Mickey breathing down your neck while you try to swallow your pancakes. Disney Magic at its best!
Where can I go to enjoy good food and the company of the Disney characters?
There are a few restaurants in Tokyo Disney that offer character dining and one of my favorites is breakfast at Chef Mickey in Disney Ambassador Hotel. Chef Mickey's breakfast is a buffet and it has a huge selection of food. Definitely one of the better Character Dining establishments in Tokyo Disney Resort.
What if I wanted to enjoy my breakfast in peace, away from the characters?
If you are one of the rare breed of Disney fans who don't care much for the characters, like me, there's Cafe Kaila in Ikspiari or the Great American Waffle Company in Tokyo Disneyland. If you're on a budget, you could get yourself an amazing bowl of udon in Ikspiari Kitchen, but that only opens later in the morning. For this blog post, Honorable Rat will be reviewing the breakfast buffet in Hyperion Lounge in Disney Ambassador Hotel. Hopefully, Hyperion Lounge will be able to join the ranks of the aforementioned dining establishments.
Breakfast buffet in Hyperion Lounge
The breakfast buffet in Hyperion Lounge costs a little less than the breakfast buffet in Chef Mickey which is expected because there are no characters involved. It offers the usual. Juices, cornflakes, coffee, tea, a cold foods section with salad, sushi, slices of ham and a hot foods section with sausages, bacon and more.

Food devoured in Hyperion Lounge
Honorable Review of Hyperion Lounge's breakfast buffet
Out of everything that I ate, I liked the cornflakes the most. Now, that is just sad. There was no standout dish in this buffet. If I'm paying 2,580 yen, I want a standout dish or two. If you have the chance, I would highly recommend the breakfast buffet at Chef Mickey over Hyperion Lounge's. Chef Mickey has a better selection, better tasting food and accompaniment from the Disney characters. Even if you don't care for the characters, there's no competition. Hyperion Lounge's breakfast buffet is just sad. Don't waste your money Ratketeer. Go somewhere else!
