Japanese food for cheap

One of Rat family's favorite place to go for Japanese food is Ootoya. Scattered around Japan like pimples scattered on a pubescent's face, Ootoya is not difficult to find. Ootoya serves up a variety of Japanese food at affordable prices. They have soba, rice bowls, karaage and NATTO! If you want a true Japanese experience, you have to give natto a go.

What is natto?

Natto is fermented soybeans and it's eaten with soy sauce and Japanese mustard. Slimy like your Honorable Rat and one of the healthiest thing you can consume. My family loves it and eats it often with rice. Honorable Rat, however, is not a big fan.

What's recommended in Ootoya?

I highly recommend any chicken dish in Ootoya. All of them are good. My personal favorite would have to be the Miso Chicken (check this out in the video below). Also, if you are in the mood for something soupy, it's tough to beat the Tofu Soup. Feeling hungry? Get both of them. Both of them together are still cheaper than a meal at these restaurants in Tokyo Disney!
