One day, as I was walking around Tokyo Disney looking for products to get for our store, I stumbled upon this counter known as Pretty Treasures in a Box. What's Pretty Treasures in a Box? Well, basically, you choose 5 accessories from a large selection, pay 1,000 yen and the Cast Member puts them all in a clear, plastic Tokyo Disney themed box for you. I hate it. I hate it because it got me thinking about the future.
Please allow me to explain myself. When we encountered Pretty Treasures in a Box, Little Mahina went berserk. She was all over that section of the store. She started picking out accessories for herself and it donned on me, "Oh crap! My baby girl is growing up! She has found out about the joys of shopping. Soon, she'll be asking for money to go shopping, she'll be going on dates, she'll be bringing a partner home to introduce to her folks! Noooooooooooo!"
They have a few of these Pretty Treasures in a Box counters throughout Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea. We bumped into this one in Toy Station. In all honesty, as much as I hated thinking about Little Mahina's future, I actually found it really cute that my daughter was trying out different accessories and she even asked for my opinion on them. That melted my heart and I got her a box of 5 accessories for 1,000 yen. Yes, I'm that easy. It's already begun, Ratketeer. Little Mahina is already learning the ropes. It starts with 1,000 yen and it will only snowball from here. Time for me to start saving for the future. Welcome to parenthood, Honorable Rat.
