Welcome to Plaza Restaurant. A dining establishment with loads of occupied seats, people sitting on the floor and children running around, particularly mine. If you are in this restaurant and happen to see two little beige kids running around, I'd appreciate it if you could get them something to eat and wait with them till your Honorable Rat returns to claim them.
I won't be that far away. I'm not that irresponsible. I'm probably at neighboring Space Mountain traveling through space or in Haunted Mansion negotiating my burial site. Here's a little secret. Both of my kids love eating. Little Mahina loves Curry Popcorn. Just get her a box and she'll sit down quietly till that box of popcorn is done. Baby Haku loves anything. Just get him the cheapest thing on the menu and he'll be occupied for a while.
Did I say anything? Sorry, there's one little detail that I forgot to mention. Anything, but the Seafood and Rice au Gratin from Plaza Restaurant. This amazingly beautiful dish, as you can see from the picture above, goes for 670 yen. It contains fish, shrimp, squid, cream stew sauce, carrots and rice. The Seafood and Rice au Gratin is the only food that I've ever seen my son reject. He had one spoonful and didn't want anything to do with it again. I kid you not! He refused to have another spoonful and I don't blame him. It tasted like one of those cheap, quick dinners that you get from the supermarket and toss into the microwave. Also, it came in a really small portion. This, however, might be a blessing in disguise because your taste buds will be begging for you to stop eating after a few spoonfuls. So, if you ever see two beige kids running around Plaza Restaurant, I'd appreciate it if you could get them something else to eat. Not this cheap tasting, bland and boring thing which is disguised as food.
