Ratketeers, meet the brother of one of my favorite snacks in Tokyo Disney Resort. Meet the Teriyaki Chicken Leg, the brother of the Spicy Smoked Chicken Leg. Whenever I head to Tokyo DisneySea, I always get myself a Spicy Smoked Chicken Leg. I'm addicted to it. The only downside to getting this snack is it's line. Sometimes, the line can extend all the way to Indiana Jones Adventure. That's crazy! Nevertheless, enough about the more adventurous brother who moved on to pursue a life of exploration in DisneySea. For this review, I paid a visit to the brother who decided to stay put in the family's home. I headed to The Skipper's Galley to get acquainted with the homely Teriyaki Chicken Leg.
The smell of Teriyaki sipped into my nostrils as I got myself a piece. It doesn't look as good as the Spicy Smoked Chicken Leg, but it smelled amazing. In fact, it looked rather gross. It was oily as hell. Reminded me of the inside of my thigh after going for a run. Now, take a moment to visualize that. Doesn't that make your mouth water?
Lucky for the Teriyaki Chicken Leg, I've never been one to judge a book by it's cover. The most important aspect of food is it's taste. I'm from Singapore. We don't do pretty food. We are more focused on the taste aspect of it. Just Google Singaporean food and you will see that there's nothing cute and pretty about it, but give it a try and you will be hooked. It's sorta like Ron Jeremy.
Now that I'm done with talking about porn stars and sweaty thighs, I'm ready to talk about the taste of the Teriyaki Chicken Leg. Is it tasty enough to be able to get in the same ring as the Spicy Smoked Chicken Leg? Hell yes! It had the right amount of Teriyaki flavor to it. Not too strong and not too weak. Amazingly balanced. Also, the chicken was cooked perfectly, creating this heavenly texture. The meat was really tender, but the best part of the Teriyaki Chicken Leg had to be it's skin. It melted in my mouth. Melted! No teeth? No problem! You don't need teeth to enjoy this amazing snack.
There you have it. Two brothers, living in different worlds. Both of them are special in their own way. Kudos to their parents. They did a stellar job raising these boys. If you are in Tokyo Disneyland and are feeling a little peckish, look no further than the Teriyaki Chicken Leg. An effortless and delicious source of protein!
