In the last blog post, I devoured the Smoked Chicken with Mexican Rice and Vegetables from Yucatan Base Camp Grill. Being in such close proximity to the brilliant Spicy Smoked Chicken Leg, I couldn't help but compare the two. At the end of the day, the Spicy Smoked Chicken Leg came out victorious. For this blog post, I headed back to Yucatan Base Camp Grill and I decided to go with something more seafoody.
Spicy Smoked Salmon with Mexican Rice and Vegetables is the most expensive plate lunch in Yucatan Base Camp Grill. Getting the plate lunch will set you back 1,040 yen and if you opt for a set, you'll have to fork out 1,450 yen. In the previous two blog posts, I wrote about how I avoid the set in Yucatan Base Camp Grill. I always stick to the plate lunch by itself when I decide to dine here. If you would like to know my reasoning behind this, you can read the previous two blog posts.
It's tough finding affordable fish steaks or fillets of any sort in Tokyo Disney Resort. The only other place that I can think of, off the bat, is the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall in Tokyo Disneyland. If you are a fan of fish, you might wanna jot down this little piece of information in your trip planning notebook.
Spicy Smoked Salmon with Mexican Rice and Vegetables comes with a side of vegetables which consists of corn, long beans, potatoes, onions and bits and pieces of bacon. It also comes with Mexican Rice which has a smoky and woody flavor. The piece of smoked salmon was cooked very nicely. It had a smoky flavor and it felt good when I bit into it. It was springy and not oily at all. The sauce is a combination of salsa sauce on cream sauce. When combined, it was smooth, sweet and sour. It went really well with the smoked salmon and the rice. If you are worried about it being spicy, don't. As I said many times before, the word "spicy" to Tokyo Disney is like everything that comes out of Donald Trump's mouth. Hot air. In fact, the Smoked Chicken with Mexican Rice and Vegetables had more of a spicy flavor than this.
So far, I've only tried the Smoked Chicken with Mexican Rice and Vegetables and this dish at Yucatan Base Camp Grill. I much prefer the Spicy Smoked Salmon with Mexican Rice and Vegetables. This is a big thing for me to be saying because I'm not a big fan of fish. I would pick chicken over fish anytime, but when it comes to dining in Yucatan Base Camp Grill, I'd go with the salmon. It does cost a little bit more, but the balance of flavor was more consistent. The sauce complimented the salmon better than the smoked chicken and it's sauce. At the end of the day, the Spicy Smoked Salmon with Mexican Rice and Vegetables is a more well rounded meal. I just wish that I could get some chicken with it. Now, that would be perfect. Oh wait! What if I combined the Spicy Smoked Chicken Leg with this?! Ohhhhhh, I'm getting excited just thinking about it.
