Sultan's Oasis is famous for Chandu Tail. It is a super cute snack that makes for a good picture opportunity. It'll give you those "likes" on your Facebook page. That's the only thing that I've ever tried in Sultan's Oasis, prior to this blog post. I normally walk past Sultan's Oasis, not paying much attention to it. I am not a man interested in illusions and Sultan's Oasis always seemed like a mirage to me, until this particular day. I was walking my normal route towards Casbah Food Court to get myself some Naan with Curry when something caught my eye.
I noticed that there was something on the menu that I have not noticed before. Creamy Curry Soup, written right at the bottom of the menu. That immediately caught my attention and veered me off my intended path. I walked into the premises of Sultan's Oasis for the second time in my life and ordered myself a Creamy Curry Soup.
Creamy Curry Soup costs 310 yen and comes in a Tokyo Disney Resort standard sized cup. It's not a big cup. If you have long fingers, like me, you would be able to wrap your hand around the cup. If the soup was not hot, you would be able to perform a disappearing act of your own with about 3 to 4 big gulps.
As I sat in the cold, within the outdoor seating area of Sultan's Oasis with my slender fingers wrapped around the cup of the Creamy Curry Soup, the heat from the soup warmed my hands up. I took the lid off and took a sniff at it. It smelled really good, like an Indian restaurant with all it's spices swirling around. I slowly sipped at the Creamy Curry Soup and it immediately made my whole body feel warm. It had a really creamy flavor, a strong taste of coconut, much like Thai curry, but a lot less spicy. There were also bits and pieces of onions in the soup which enriched the taste of it. After the last sip, I felt good. Only thing that bothers me a little about the Creamy Curry Soup is it's price versus it's portion. Just like a mirage, the relationship between the two was a little displaced. With that being said, mirage or not, I highly recommend for you to try this soup out. It's definitely one of my favorite soups in Tokyo Disney.
