So, we are left with two remaining sandwiches from New York Deli that are up for review. Recently, I've reviewed two sandwiches that were good, but didn't quite make the playoffs. Sorta like the Oakland Raiders and the New York Jets. Add a little bit more here and a little more there and those sandwiches could have squeezed their way through. There was something missing in both those sandwiches. Today, I'm gonna be reviewing the Mile High Deli Stack. How will this sandwich do? Will it make the playoffs? Will it get to the Super Bowl? Will it win it all? The battle for the championship continues at New York Deli. Let the games begin!
Mile High Deli Stack is the most expensive sandwich in New York Deli and that's no surprise. It's the biggest sandwich on offer in the restaurant. It costs 920 yen and contains roast beef, roasted chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and sauerkraut sauce. It's sorta like Cam Newton. It's big, it looks good and is filled with so many different ingredients to potentially become a champion.
As I've previously mentioned, the Mile High Deli Stack is big. Good luck with trying to fit this into your mouth. I had to separate the top half from the bottom in order to take a bite.
Unlike the Turkey Pastrami Panini and the Shrimp & Salmon Trout on Soft Bagel, I actually got a good amount of veggies in this sandwich. The tomatoes and lettuce were fresh and added to the flavor of the sandwich. The cheese, along with the meat added some saltiness to the sandwich and the sauerkraut sauce added that zing to the meal. Everything came together really well. However, I did feel that it was not perfect. For the price, I feel that a little more slices of meat would have made me feel better. If you look at the picture above, you can see that there were only a maximum of 5 super thin slices of meat in the sandwich. Only one slice of chicken! The majority of the sandwich is well, ... bread.
At the end of the day, the Mile High Deli Stack came very close to glory. It got to the Super Bowl, but was a few slices of meat short of lifting the trophy. You got it in you to become a champion, Mile High Deli Stack. I just need a little bit more from you.
Honorable Rating: Mmm, This Is Good (4/5)
