It was a beautiful winter's day. The sun was shining, the sky was clear and it was not that cold. A temperature which allowed for this rat to have his hands out of his pockets. On this wonderfully warm winter's day, I was able to walk around with food in my hand without shivering. I was able to dine outside like the common folk. A great day to be in the most beautiful theme park in the world.
Halfway through my journey, I got hungry. It was lunch time. I headed to Vulcania Restaurant for some Chinese food. After that, I decided to head over to Breezeway Bites to get one of my favorite snacks for dessert. I decided to have a Meat Pie for dessert. Yes, that's how I roll. I sometimes have ice cream as my main dish and fried rice for dessert. There's no box that can hold me. This stomach deserves to be free. To all stomachs out there, follow your heart. You will be way happier. Forget about this fad of starving yourself to look like a pair of chopsticks. How did the definition of beauty become so twisted? You only live once, so eat what you want, whenever you want, in healthy portions and don't forget to exercise. You will be way happier. Balance Raketeers. Balance.
As I was walking towards Breezeway Bites, I noticed a long line. I've never seen a line this long at Breezeway Bites before. What's going on here? Is Honorable Rat getting bigger? Did more people read my review on Meat Pie and decide to go with my recommendation? Am I getting famous? Am I gonna be rich?! I might finally be able to buy the Houston Texans and turn them into a Super Bowl contender! Yes! My dreams are all coming true.
What the %#$&?! They replaced Meat Pie?! It's funny how hopes and dreams can turn into disappointment and despair in just a few measly minutes. This is ridiculous. And what did they replace it with? Fried Pizza Turnover? What's that? Why is it 190 yen more expensive than the Meat Pie?! I waited in line for about 20 minutes, just to find out that my beloved Meat Pie has been replaced. Oh wait.... but it smells really good. Hmmmmmm, this might be something. Come to papa Fried Pizza Turnover. I am gonna place you in my digestive system as revenge.
I looked at the Fried Pizza Turnover with anger in my eyes. We had a stare down for about a minute or so and I slowly placed it in my mouth. I bit into it like how a lion would bite into a gazelle. Muahahahahaha!!! Revenge is sweet, but wait a second. As the flavor of the Fried Pizza Turnover swirled around in my mouth, my anger slowly dissipated. The crust of this snack was a delight to bite into. It reminded me of my late Grandma's Curry Puffs. The edges were crunchy and the center is soft. The edges crackled when I bit into it. That felt really good. As I got closer to the filling, the full flavor of the Fried Pizza Turnover began to reveal itself.
At the heart of the Fried Pizza Turnover, I found myself chewing on pieces of chicken with mozzarella, tomato paste and basil sauce. It was delicious. Everything came together well. The saltiness of the mozzarella came together well with the herby flavor of the basil sauce. Add the sweet and sour flavor of the tomato paste and voila, your Honorable Rat was dancing with delight. It was really good, but I felt that it didn't deserve the 500 yen price tag slapped on it. Meat Pie had more filling, was as delicious and cheaper.
Overall, Fried Pizza Turnover was good. It's texture was really good and it was flavorful. Everything about it was good, I feel that it is a little overpriced for it's lack of filling. A lot of skin and too little meat. Not quite as balanced as I would have liked. Why did they have to erase Meat Pie from Breezeway Bites?! Here's an idea Tokyo Disney! Keep the Meat Pie and add the Fried Pizza Turnover to Breezeway Bites. A win-win situation!
Honorable Rating: Mmm, This Is Good (4/5)
