Summer is fast approaching and it's getting hot! As many of you may already know, I'm a Singaporean rat. I was born and bred in Singapore. Everyday is summer in Singapore. Looking at the travel forecast in Singapore is pointless. I'll give you the forecast now. Ahem, ahem. "We expect temperatures to range from 26 - 34 degrees celsius with a chance of rain, everyday, 365 days a year. Thank you."
I currently live in Saitama, Japan and I must tell you, summer here can be quite unbearable. It's more humid and hotter than in Singapore. It's crazy. I love summer. It's my favorite season anywhere in the world, but sometimes, this tropical rat gets destroyed by this weather. It can get quite unbearable. Do stay hydrated when visiting Tokyo Disney Resort cause you are gonna be sweating..... a lot!
I've got a few tips for all you Ratketeers on how to stay cool in summer.
1) Stay hydrated. Drink loads of water and don't go spending your hard earned money on the overpriced drinks in Tokyo Disney. Here's a tip within a tip on how to save money when it comes saving money on drinks in Tokyo Disney. Click here to read more about it.
2) Bring a small towel. Wet your towel as often as you can and use it to cool your body down.
3) Eat indoors. Here are some recommendations.
4) Finally, my favorite tip for today. Two words Ratketeers. Two magical words. Ice cream!
Tokyo Disney serves up a variety of frozen delights to keep you cool in this scorching weather. I've always been a big fan of sweets. Dessert should always follow a meal. I don't care how health conscious you are, but a meal without dessert is like the Houston Texans without J.J. Watt. It becomes unproductive, worthless, a waste of time.
Nothing beats walking around in this unforgiving weather in Tokyo Disney while having a frozen delight. For this trip, my sugary pleasure of choice was the Tiramisu Ice Cream Sandwich. 310 yen to keep myself cool for a bit. That's a lot of coins for a mass produced ice cream sandwich. I could have headed to the convenience store and got myself an ice cream cone for half of that price, but who am I kidding. I didn't wanna walk all the way to Maihama train station in this heat to save 150 yen. I may be cheap, but I ain't crazy. Not that crazy, at least.
So, was it worth the money?
In short, hell yes!
If you are the kind of Rat that would just wanna know if it's worth the money, you can stop reading this blog post and go buy yourself this sandwich. You won't regret it. If you are the kind of rat that would need a little bit more information before spending your hard earned money, read on.
The Tiramisu Ice Cream Sandwich was delicious, and creamy. The sandwich was soft and had enough crunch in it to make me wanna do the naenae. It certainly did the job of cooling me down and it tickled my taste buds too. It was so good that I got myself another one after gobbling up my first one in record time. I highly recommend this to all you Ratketeers.
Here's another tip for all you Ratketeers. Go get a Spicy Smoked Chicken Leg, get this Tiramisu Ice Cream Sandwich and head to Miguel's El Dorado Cantina for some air-conditioned comfort. Don't bother with the food in Miguel's El Dorado Cantina. Just use it for the air-conditioning and it's atmosphere. While you're in Miguel's El Dorado Cantina, I want you to focus on your Spicy Smoked Chicken Leg and finishing it up with this Tiramisu Ice Cream Sandwich. After that, enjoy your well deserved nap. My fellow Ratketeers, this will probably be one of the best naps that you've ever taken in your life.
