Who doesn't like pizza? NOBODY! Everyone is in love with this piece of crust topped with whatever your mind can think of. If I were to open a pizza parlor, I would create a pizza with all kinds of cheese, honey, wagyu beef, jellybeans, ice cream and broccoli, just to keep it healthy. Who's buying? ............ (Birds chirping, sound of the wind can be heard)
Okay, as you can see, I'm not cut out to be a pizza chef. I'll leave the pizza making to the experts. In Tokyo Disney Resort, there are quite a few places that serve up these cheesy delights. We've got Ristorante Di Canaletto which is one of my go-to when traveling to Disneysea. We've got Captain Hook's Galley which turned out to be surprisingly good. For this blog post, your honorable one will be reviewing the ever so popular, Pan Galactic Pizza Port.
Pan Galactic Pizza Port is a counter service restaurant. You line up, you purchase your food and you find a seat, if you're lucky. This restaurant is almost always packed. When you first walk into Pan Galactic Pizza Port, you will be transported into the future. There's a story being told at this restaurant and it adds to the dining experience. I recommend that you head up to the second floor and immerse yourself in the storytelling. Pan Galactic Pizza Port provides seating on the 1st and 2nd floor. They also have outdoor seating.
When it comes to theming, I really like this restaurant. It reminds me of classic Disney magic, much like Pirates of the Caribbean. I can remember eating at this restaurant when I was younger. I remember my mum and dad bringing my little sisters and I to this restaurant. As soon as I saw the animatronic of the alien in the restaurant, I got a feeling of nostalgia. After our meal, Little Mahina and I went up to the second floor to spend some quality time together, looking at the animatronic that I saw when I was a kid. Disney magic at it's best.
When it comes to the pizza, sad to say, it was not as good as Ristorante Di Canaletto or Captain Hook's Galley. The calzone in Ristorante Di Canaletto destroys both flavors of calzone in Pan Galactic Pizza Port. The Double-Sausage Pizza was the best dish in Pan Galactic Pizza Port, but it was no match for the pizzas found in Ristorante Di Canaletto or Captain Hook's Galley.
If you choose to dine at Pan Galactic Pizza Port, I would recommend going for the Double-Sausage Pizza. The calzones were really quite disappointing. There was not so much filling in the calzones and the skin lacked crisp. Personally, I feel that they are overpriced. The only dish that provides good value here is the Double-Sausage Pizza.
In my opinion, when it comes to the atmosphere, theming and storytelling, Pan Galactic Pizza Port scored a home run. However, when it comes to the pizzas, you can find better value and quality at other dining establishments around the parks. With that being said, Pan Galactic Pizza Port is a still a fun place to dine in with the family.
