I love curry. There's so many different types of curry in the world. We got Indian curry, Thai curry, Japanese curry, Indonesian curry, Singaporean curry and many more countries which have their own rendition of this amazing dish. Every country you go to, you will find great curry. A dish that is so different when you travel from one place to another, but in it's essence, it's so similar. It's sort of like human beings. We all have different cultures and backgrounds, but we are essentially the same. Wow, look at me getting all philosophical. Curry is bringing the Ghandi out of me.
This review will be a little special. We've got special guests on Honorable Rat. This visit to Disneysea was joined by my family from Singapore. We all have nicknames in my family. I'm "Monkey" because I behave like one. My Dad is known as "The Checker" because he likes to check on everything. He's the man to travel with, because he likes asking random people around him for recommendations. He checks with them if a restaurant is good and once he gets an answer, he'll move on to the next unsuspecting victim to double-check with that person. He also enjoys walking around checking the menu of every restaurant, hence the nickname, "The Checker." I'm pretty sure that every family has a member like that.
I will not get into everyone's nicknames, but I would like to introduce you to my little sister, Nadia. She has had many nicknames. There was a period of time when we called her "Bottle Woman" because she collected bottles and carried a few around wherever she went. For this trip, she was known as "The Popcorn Feeder." Just look at the pictures below and you will know why.
After all of us got a taste of Curry Popcorn, we sat down in a circle in Arabian Coast and started sharing our thoughts on this particular flavor of popcorn. We chose Arabian Coast for this little powwow as we thought that it was the most fitting setting for this occasion. Curry + Arab = Perfect setting to discuss the final score for a popcorn flavor.
Little Mahina gave it a 5 because that's the only number she can say for now. Papa gave it a 5 too. When it comes to food, my father only has two scores. 0 or 5. Curry Popcorn gets a 5 from him. Mummy gave it a 3 because she said that it was not spicy enough for her. Nadia, Wife-chan and I agreed on a 4. Baby Haku did not even bother because he was in deep sleep.
So, if we do the math. That's 25 divided by 6, which turns out to be 4.16666667. If we round that number, we get a 4. That's how we do things over here at Honorable Rat. Booyah!
Nadia, Wife-chan and I agreed that it was a little mild, but the flavor was good. Every time we finished a handful, we reached in to get more. It's almost like Tokyo Disney made it mild on purpose because they knew that we would chomp it down and get ourselves another box.
All in all, Curry Popcorn was good. The curry flavor was subtle. In my opinion, it could be a little stronger. It's not spicy, so even little kids can enjoy it. This is one flavor that the whole family can enjoy together. Remember to do a powwow when you guys are done with it and tell me what you think about this particular flavor.
Honorable Rating: Mmm, This is Good (4/5)
