Restaurant Sakura
Restaurant Sakura
By the river, in American Waterfront, lies a warehouse. A warehouse that serves up Japanese food and fittingly named Restaurant Sakura. It's named after one of Japan's most beautiful sights that only springs up for about a week. I've walked past this warehouse many times on my visits to Tokyo Disneysea, but never really payed attention to it. Maybe, it's because I never thought much about having Japanese food while I'm at Disney. You can read about my thoughts on that here. Or maybe, it's because I often walked past Ristorante Di Canaletto on my way to American Waterfront. If you've been following my adventures, you would know that Ristorante Di Canaletto is one of my favorite restaurants in Tokyo Disneysea, so by the time I get to Restaurant Sakura, I'm already full from having a ton of delicious Italian food. But for whatever reason I've shunned Restaurant Sakura in my previous visits, I've always wanted to dine there. I don't know why. There's something about this restaurant's exterior that calls out to me.

On this visit to Tokyo Disneysea, I finally decided to answer Restaurant Sakura's call. Restaurant Sakura's interior, much like it's exterior, is really well themed. I like that they themed it like an old warehouse. It reminded me of some movies that I watched as a child growing up. Old mob movies in particular. I felt like I was walking into a secret warehouse that stores illegal items. A quiet place by the river to finish off a rival gang member. A place to hit a member of the family who has been disloyal. A place to dispatch a rat.

Being a gangster at heart, I know how one would feel after a hard day's work at the warehouse. How do you feel after a hard day's work at the office? Mmm hmmm. That's right. You feel hungry. When it comes to selection, Restaurant Sakura has something for everyone. What are you in the mood for? Pork, beef, chicken, seafood, fish? Restaurant Sakura has it all.

Not being able to decide on what to order and being super hungry, I decided to order everything on the main menu, Al Capone style. It's everything or nothing for this Honorable Gangster. Bring me everything!!! Nah guys, I'm just playing. I didn't order everything, but I still ordered quite a lot.
Assorted Deep Fried Skewers
Beef Steak on Rice with Grated Daikon and Ponzu
Assorted Tempura
Today's Fish
Seafood Mabushi-Zen
Out of all the dishes ordered, two of them were super delicious. I highly recommend them to everyone. You have to try the Seafood Mabushi-Zen and the Charlie's Miso Clam Chowder. Both these dishes managed to bring out the peace loving side of me and made me want to change my ways. They made me want to rehabilitate and become a better man. They were heavenly. If you ever visit Restaurant Sakura, you have to try these dishes.
Restaurant Sakura is a great place if you are looking for Japanese food in Tokyo Disneysea. I really enjoyed it's atmosphere and food. I will definitely drop by in the future as a reformed man to say hello to my new buddies, Seafood Mabushi-Zen and Charlie's Miso Clam Chowder. If you ever drop by, do say hello to my little friends.
