Buried deep in the depths of Mount Prometheus lies a place for you to fill your tummy and be merry. Nautilus Galley is often overlooked by many visitors in Tokyo Disneysea. It's quite an inconspicuous dining establishment. If you're not looking closely enough, it's easy to waltz by it. To embark on this dining adventure, you will have to travel underground.
Nautilus Galley serves up Smoked Turkey Leg and Pork Gyoza. For all you, Ratketeers, out there who enjoy getting a little tipsy now and then, you could also indulge in a beer, or two, or three. With the right company, you could spend hours at this place just snacking, drinking and enjoying conversation.
You can choose from two types of beer in Nautilus Galley. There's the Kirin Draft and the Kirin Ichiban "Frozen" Draft. For those of you who don't know the difference, allow this alcoholic rat to educate you. The Kirin Draft is, well, a Kirin Draft. It's fairly straightforward.
A Kirin Ichiban "Frozen" Draft, on the other hand, is a fairly new creation involving the highest technology in beer brewing. It is.... drum roll please....
It is Kirin Draft Beer topped with frozen beer foam. Tadaaaaa. Pure brilliance. The person who came up with this idea deserves a Nobel prize. It helps the beer keep cool for a longer time. In Tokyo's sweltering summer heat, this beer is heavenly. Pair this up with the Smoked Turkey Leg to experience something special.
What can I say about the Smoked Turkey Leg that has not already been said by gazillions on the internet? Nothing. I'll have to agree with the majority and say that this is one brilliant snack. It's a little smaller than it's counterpart in the U.S Parks, but it tastes just as good. Salty, juicy goodness. It goes really well with beer. A perfect combination.
Nautilus Galley also serves up Pork Gyoza. Nothing special here. It's really ordinary and there's very little meat in it. I rate it a 3/5, but, if you have it with a beer, it's score goes up to 4/5. All hail the power of beer. A beverage that will make anything look, taste and feel better. Booyah!
I highly recommend this place in the summer. It's a great place to find some shade and snack in. In the winter, it could get a little cold here. In that case, I would recommend visiting a buffeteria or a table service restaurant.
In the summer, be sure to get the Smoked Turkey Leg and a Kirin Ichiban "Frozen" Draft, look out at Mount Promotheus and enjoy the man-made beauty of the best theme park in the world. When you're done with that, get another beer and repeat.
Honorable Rating: Mmm, This Is Good (4/5)
