Beautiful, great food, great service. Club 33 is an exclusive, member's only club. If I could only use one word to describe Club 33, the first word that comes to mind would be perfection. Hands down, the best restaurant in TDR. Heck, it is one of the best restaurants that I have ever dined in, period. As a Disney child, I had loads of Disney dreams. From wanting to live in The Pirates of The Carribean attraction to wanting to have my own magic show in The Parks. I had a list of Disney Dreams and one of those dreams was to dine in Club 33. As I walked up to the door of Club 33, I was smiling from ear to ear knowing that one of my childhood dreams was going to be fulfilled.
Once on the second floor, an usher walked us to our table. We sat down and got ready for our meal. Club 33 only offers course meals. There is no a la carte menu in this restaurant. When making reservations for the restaurant, we informed the cast member on our course for lunch. In total, there are about 5 courses which you can choose from for lunch. We went with the Birthday Course as it was my wife's birthday. A whopping 16,800 yen per person for the birthday course. Prestige don't come cheap, but it's not everyday that I get to fulfill a childhood dream. Splurge away!
With the Birthday course, we got a cake, flower, 5 course meal and Mickey will personally come chill for a bit with your crew. Pretty cool. To be honest, I would pay 16,800 for the 5 course meal, alone. The food served here was divine. I've been to a couple of fine dining restaurants and I hated them. I never understood that concept. Small portions, hefty price. Paying loads of money to get a little taste of amazing food and almost always walking away hungry. To me, that's just crazy! I'm an Ikea meatball, Costco pizza kinda guy. With that being said, the meal at Club 33 was brilliant. I walked away full and happy. The 5 courses were properly portioned. This ain't no Victoria's Secret runway model's meal. This dining experience was tailored to the appetite of a "normal" human being.
After we were finished with our amazing meal, we were ushered into another room. As we entered that room, there was a birthday cake on the table. We sat down and my wife was told to close her eyes and make a wish. At that point, Mickey walked into the room to join us in the celebration. He came into the room, took pictures, interacted, assisted in blowing out the candles (his nose moved as we were blowing the candles) and took the time off his busy schedule to autograph a polaroid with a personalized birthday message. In total, it felt like he spent 15 - 20 minutes with my family. That was perfect.
After our meal, it was time to take our leave. As we were exiting the restaurant, we saw a few cabinets showcasing Club 33 merchandise.
A childhood dream has been fulfilled. As I walked out of Club 33, a new dream was formed. All that amazing food and Disney magic must have concocted something in my mind. Gone are the days of me dreaming about performing a straight jacket escape, hanging upside down from the top of Mount Promotheus. Yes, that was a real dream once. For now, all I want, is to create a positive atmosphere around my family that says, "It is perfectly ok to dream."
